Downtown Phoenix residential tower hits milestone; plus 6 more Valley deals to know


Developers of a 29-story residential tower spanning an entire city block in downtown Phoenix have topped out the project.Called Sol Modern, the 1.3 million-square-foot project at 601 N. Central Ave. is expected to be completed by the spring of 2025.LG Development, a division of Chicago-based LG Group, is developing the project. Layton Construction is the general contractor and bKL Architecture is the architect, in collaboration with LG Design.Boasting 747 residential units, the project also will include 30,000 square feet of retail space on the first level. It also will include two amenity decks on the eighth and 28th floors, with two pools, outdoor lounges, kitchens, cabanas, a spa, a fitness turf area, a basketball court, a dog park, citrus groves and shading elements.• Scottsdale-based Harvard Investments has kicked off construction at its second build-to-rent community in the West Valley, called FirstStreet Skyline in Buckeye.The new housing project, being constructed by BB Living, will comprise 222 units across 23 acres at full buildout with a 4,000-square-foot clubhouse focused on health and wellness.It’s expected to start pre-leasing by the end of 2025 and feature other amenities such as a gym, a cold plunge, sauna, hot tub, ramadas, fire pits, outdoor games and a resort-style pool.FirstStreet Skyline will offer stand-alone detached homes, including one-bedroom residences. The single-level homes will not share walls, while the one-bedroom carriage units will include an attached garage.It will be located at the southwest corner of Sienna Hills Parkway and McDowell Road in close proximity to the master-planned Verrado communit …
