
Slim Chickens, an Arkansas-based fast-casual restaurant chain, is set to open three locations across the state in the coming months and plans on hiring hundreds of people to work in the new stores.The restaurant chain was founded in 2003 and is known for its chicken tenders, chicken sandwiches and 17 house dipping sauces.Phoenix-based Barnett Management Co. is the franchisee that will own and operate Slim Chickens locations in the state. The company is a long-time Burger King franchisee and his signed on to open 32 Slim Chickens locations in Arizona over the next 10 years. That agreement makes it the among the largest groups of openings in the Slim Chickens franchise nationally.The first Arizona Slim Chickens location that Barnett opened is south of the Valley in Maricopa. The 4,200-square-foot restaurant is at 4170 W. Maricopa Casa Grande Highway in Maricopa and it broke Slim Chickens’ restaurant system record by selling approximately 3,000 pounds of chicken per day during its opening week.Read more related Arizona restaurant news:The next location is set to open in mid-June at 35th Ave. and Happy Valley Road in Glendale.
