A former Arizona Cardinals player is starting a construction company in the Valley.Retired NFL linebacker Wesley Leasy announced in June that he is launching Leasy Construction LLC to offer a variety of construction services across Arizona. Leasy will serve as owner and CEO.Leasy was a seventh-round pick in the 1995 NFL Draft and played for the Cardinals for one season. He also ran for the Arizona House of Representatives in 2022, which he said helped him find a vision for the company. Leasy added that construction was always something he wanted to do, dating back to his time in college prior to being drafted into the NFL.“To add back to the community, also provide some work for the community, that was a big thing I ran into when I was pursuing my campaign here in the last election,” Leasy said. “There was so much that needed to be done with fair housing and opportunity for people, and it was a challenge.”Leasy Construction is also looking to get into government projects, including freeways and other infrastructure. Leasy said his team, which includes about five employees along with independent contractors, is presently working on a commercial building for Tempe-based First United Door Technologies, with another commercial project for a marijuana dispensary lined up.More construction news:• Developer breaks ground on new business park in Goodyear• LG Energy Solution …
