A well-known metro Phoenix home inspector with hundreds of thousands of social media followers and posts of construction problems, including shoddy roofs, has drawn a complaint with regulators from a homebuilder.Taylor Morrison filed a complaint against Cy Porter of CyFy Home Inspections, alleging he misrepresents problems, creates fear-mongering with buyers, conceals facts and cyberbullies people.Porter often posts videos of things he identifies as construction problems, including cracked wood, incorrectly mounted lights and badly installed showers.[embedded content]Porter’s social media also shows what he describes as a construction worker taking equipment from a job site and workers removing home inspection marking tape without fixing the problem that was marked.Porter focuses on new home construction and works primarily with homebuyers.Porter said he would not comment on the Taylor Morrison complaint until after the State Board of Technical Registration finishes its investigation.
