The Arizona Department of Transportation has issued another installment of closures and restrictions coming to Valley highways this weekend as part of ongoing improvement projects. Notable closures will be seen along stretches of Interstate 10, 17, Loop 303 and U.S. 60. Drivers are advised to allow for extra time and plan alternate routes. Additionally, drivers should be prepared to slow down and merge safely when venturing through work zones. Westbound I-10 closed between Superstition Freeway and 32nd Street Details: Westbound Interstate 10 will be closed between U.S. 60 (Superstition Freeway) and 32nd Street near Sky Harbor International Airport for the I-10 Broadway Curve Improvement Project. The westbound I-10 on-ramps at Elliot and Baseline roads will also be closed. Westbound US 60 ramps to westbound I-10 closedSouthbound SR 143 ramp to westbound I-10 closedWestbound US 60 on-ramps at McClintock Drive, Rural Road and Mill Avenue closedBroadway Road closed in both directions between 48th and 55th streets. When: 10 p.m. Friday, March 31, to 4 a.m. Monday, April 3 Alternate Routes: ADOT advises drivers on westbound I-10 to consider using eastbound Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) to northbound Loop 101 (Price Freeway) to westbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway). Those heading to the West Valley can use the west/northbound Loop 202 (South Mountain Freeway) to reach I-10 near 59th Avenue. Drivers on U.S. 60 can use northbound Loop 101 to westbound Loop 202. Those traveling to Sky Harbor International Airport are advised to allow for extra travel time. Westbound I-10 off-ramp at Warner Road closed for several weeks Details: The westbound I-10 off-ramp at Warner Road is set to undergo a several-week closure. When: 10 p.m. Friday, March 31 to Friday, April 21 Alternate Exit: Ray or Elliot roads. Westbound I-10 narrowed between Watson and Miller roads Details: Westbound I-10 will be narrowed to one lane between Watson and Miller roads in Buckeye for a freeway widening project. When: 9 p.m. Friday, March 31 to 9 a.m. Saturday, April 1 Alternate Routes: Drivers are advised to allow for extra time and can exit westbound I-10 before the work zone and use local routes. Additional Restrictions: Eastbound I-10 will be narrowed to one lane between Watson Road and Verrado Way beginning 9 p.m. Saturday, April 1, to 9 a.m. Sunday, April 2. Watson Road also remains closed under I-10 for ongoing interchange reconstruction work. Southbound I-17 closed between Greenway Road and Northern Avenue Details: Southbound I-17 will be closed between Greenway Road and Northern Avenue for a pavement improvement project. Both Loop 101 ramps to southbound I-17 will be closed, as well as the southbound I-17 on-ramps at Union Hills Drive and Bell Road. When: 9 p.m. Friday, March 31 to 5 a.m. Monday, April 3 Alternate Routes: ADOT suggests southbound I-17 drivers consider detouring onto eastbound Loop 101 (Pima Freeway) and use southbound State Route 51 as an alternate route to get the downtown Phoenix area. Southbound I-17 traffic trying to exit at Greenway Road can use southbound 19th or 35th avenues to travel past the closure. Additional Closure: The northbound I-17 HOV lane will be closed between Dunlap and Peoria avenues starting 10 p.m. Friday, March 31 and ending 5 a.m. Monday, April 3 for Valley Metro’s light rail bridge project. Westbound Loop 303 closed between I-17 and Lake Pleasant Parkway Details: Westbound Loop 303 will be closed between I-17 and Lake Pleasant Parkway for new interchange construction. The I-17 on and off-ramps at Loop 303 will remain open with access to eastbound Loop 303 or to and from Sonoran Desert Drive. When: 8 p.m. Friday, March 31 to 5 a.m. Monday, April 3 Alternate Routes: Drivers can use westbound State Route 74 to southbound Lake Pleasant Parkway to reach westbound Loop 303 past the closure. Westbound US 60 closed between Loop 202 and Greenfield Road Details: Westbound U.S. 60 (Superstition Freeway) will be closed between Loop 202 (SuperRedTan Interchange) and Greenfield Road in Mesa for a pavement improvement project. Both Loop 202 ramps to westbound U.S. 60 will be closed. The westbound U.S. 60 on-ramp at Ellsworth Road will be closed as well. When: 9 p.m. Friday, March 31 to 5 a.m. Monday, April 3 Alternate Routes: Drivers can use either stretch of westbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain or Santan Freeways). Westbound U.S. 60 drivers can also exit ahead of the closure and use westbound Baseline Road or Southern Avenue.
