Lane closures with up to 30-minute travel delays will be in place July 16-31 on SR-28

Lane closures and travel delays will be in place on State Route 28 between Incline Village and Crystal Bay as the Nevada Department of Transportation repaves the highway beginning Sunday, July 16 as part of continuing road improvements.
Drivers have seen single-lane closures and construction-related travel delays on other sections of State Route 28 from Crystal Bay to Sand Harbor State Park and on Mt. Rose Highway from the summit to the SR 28 roundabout as part of the multi-year project to repave and improve the highways. Beginning this month, drivers will see the following lane reductions as crews repave and make the following highway improvements:
Lane closures with up to 30-minute travel delays will be in place July 16-31 on SR 28 from the State Route 431 roundabout in Incline Village to Crystal Bay for repaving. The lane closures will take place 24-hours-a-day from Sundays at 8 p.m. through noon Fridays. Crews will remove four inches of aging asphalt and repave for a preserved, smoother roadway surface. Major paving will take place during overnight hours, with more limited paving and lane closures and shifts during the day.
Residents near the highway can expect to hear construction noise while crews mill and remove old asphalt. Noise-reducing equipment and tools will be used to minimize noise.
Lane closures with up to 30-minute travel delays will be in place beginning July 17 through mid August on SR 28 at Marlette Creek, near the Thunderbird Lodge, south of Sand Harbor State Park. The lane closures will take place 24-hours-a-day from Sundays at 8 p.m. through noon Fridays.
