ADOT says Highway 90 road work should start at end of year and last through next summer





SIERRA VISTA — It’s painfully obvious that State Route 90 is in need of repair in Sierra Vista, especially at the heavy shopping area around Target and Fry’s. But around the end of the year, Sierra Vista travelers should begin to see signs of progress.The Arizona Department of Transportation is responsible for construction on State Route 90. the Border Patrol Station to Moson Road project is planned to fix the issues of the pothole-filled highway. According to ADOT, the project is estimated to cost $52 million, but the contract process has not begun yet. The repairs will involve replacing guardrails, installing new sidewalks and sidewalk ramps, putting up new signage, installing ground-in rumble strips on shoulders and centerlines where needed, and perhaps most importantly, rehabilitating the pavement and giving it a fresh coat of paint.
