
PHOENIX — Sagewood, a life plan community based in north Phoenix, recently announced its intention to expand its current 85-acre campus, according to a press release.
At its 15-year anniversary celebration on Feb. 27, Sagewood executive director Ed Smith discussed “community expansion and upgrades” with residents and staff members.
The living center located at 4555 E. Mayo Boulevard is looking to add “another casita/villa neighborhood and an apartment building” on its existing property.
Why is Sagewood expanding?
Sagewood is particularly seeking to create more space for those of retirement age, as its waitlist continues to grow in length. Since opening in 2010, the community has expanded from 126 residents to now more than 600.
The community features 417 units and provides options for independent living, assisted living and memory care.
Five different dining options, a large event space, an 18-hole putting course, a fitness center, movie theaters, indoor and outdoor pools are among the additional amenities.
“We are excited to celebrate our 15-year anniversary and announce our community expansion and upgrades,” Ed Smith, executive director of Sagewood, said in a press release.
“It has been an honor serving Arizona seniors and we are looking forward to making our community even better as we continue to grow. Our goal is to always ensure residents have the best living experience and learning first-hand what they want in the expansion is a really special way to collaborate in creating the future of our community.”
