LANSING, MI – Michigan residents could receive six additional weeks of unemployment benefits under a new plan backed by Democrats.If enacted, the House bill would allow Michigan residents who file for unemployment benefits on or after Jan. 15, 2025, to receive up to 26 weeks of benefits, which is a month-and-a-half longer than the current 20-week maximum.
