Brazilian company plans $70M chemical plant; plus more Valley deals to know


Brazil-based Chlorum Solutions has announced plans for a $70 million chemical production plant south of Phoenix.The Pinal County facility will be its first small-scale U.S. chlor-alkali plant, located at the northwest corner of Burris and Alamo roads across a 10-acre site in Casa Grande.Through Chlorum Solutions USA LLC, the company will develop a 177,000-square-foot space including the main buildings, process installations, roads and storage areas.The plant will produce sodium hypochlorite, also known as bleach, hydrochloric acid and caustic soda directly from salt to support its customers in Arizona. It will not compress, liquefy or store chlorine gas.It’s also expected to create 40 new jobs and help localize petrochemical services to support manufacturers throughout the Phoenix metro.
