It did not take defensive tackle Dalvin Tomlinson long to cash in after his release by the Cleveland Browns, inking a deal with the Arizona Cardinals in NFL free agency.
The Cardinals are signing Tomlinson, per his agent, to a two-year contract for $29 million with $16 million guaranteed. Tomlinson was officially released by the Browns at 6:30 p.m. and quickly found a new home on the official first day of free agency.
The now-former Browns defensive tackle was a major contributor in his two seasons in Cleveland. He started 32 games during his time and collected six sacks along with 54 total tackles. Releasing Tomlinson saved the Browns $6.4 million in salary cap space that will not be available until June 2. At this time, the team also plans to release safety Juan Thornhill.
While Tomlinson quickly found a new home, the Browns made short work of finding his replacement on the defensive line. It was reported they have agreed to a two-year, $20 million contract with former 49ers defensive tackle Maliek Collins. The veteran Collins posted five sacks along with 33 combined tackles in 2024. We’ll see if he serves as a solid replacement for the well-liked Dalvin Tomlinson.
