New $28M community for veterans, seniors coming to Phoenix; plus 9 more Valley real estate deals


Philadelphia-based Pennrose LLC is making its Phoenix debut with the construction of a 60-unit apartment community for low-income seniors and military veterans.The 58,000-square-foot apartment community is being built at 1510 E. Portland St. in partnership with Butler Housing and CBC Financial Corp.Total development costs are expected to be around $28.2 million. Financing was provided by Bank of America, Cedar Rapids Bank and Trust and the city of Phoenix. In addition, Congressman Ruben Gallego’s office supported $500,000 in Congressional Program Funds to the development.General contractor is W.E. O’Neil, architect is Dekker Perich Sabatini, and property management will be provided by Dunlap & Magee.Adjacent to the Garfield Commons affordable housing community that was built in 2014, the four-story project is expected to be completed in the winter of 2024.Pennrose also will lead the development of the future G …
