Legendary Phoenix blues club is for sale again. Here’s what we know about Char’s


Char’s Live is back on the market.For 35 years, the legendary nightclub in the Melrose District of Phoenix hosted R&B, blues, soul and funk acts as Char’s Has the Blues in a cozy, 2,245-square-foot house on Seventh Avenue north of Indian School Road.In 1989, Jim Rymond credited his wife, Char Rymond, with the bar feeling like a second home for music lovers, telling The Arizona Republic, “Basically, her concept is, we’re going to invite people into our living room to hear live music.”How Char’s got the blues: The story of a legendary Phoenix nightclub, now called Chars LiveHow Char’s Has the Blues became Char’s LiveDavid Cameron and his business partner, San Diego-based real estate broker Peter Valleau, bought the club in 2020, changed the name to Char’s Live and reopened in February 2022 after a remodel the real estate listing says was worth more than $300,000.The Republic has reached out to Cameron for comment.The business is listed with HUB Commercial for $495,000. The sale includes the No. 6 bar liquor license (currently worth $250,000), the trade name, the website and the furniture, fixtures and equipment.The building itself is not included in the asking price …
