Flagstaff will celebrate the Fourth of July with a high-tech twist this year, replacing traditional fireworks with a drone light show. The change comes in response to ongoing fire concerns in the region, with organizers aiming to provide a safe yet festive alternative that honors the holiday. The drone show will take place at the Continental Golf Club and feature 200 drones creating patriotic imagery synchronized to music, offering a new experience for residents and visitors.
The city has partnered with Sky Elements Drone Shows, a company known for delivering visually stunning aerial displays. In addition to the drone show, Flagstaff will also host a variety of other Independence Day festivities, including the annual Downtown Mile race and a parade. City officials hope this new celebration format will attract families while highlighting environmental responsibility and public safety.
