
Various improvement projects will require closures and restrictions along sections of Valley freeways, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation. Here’s what to know before heading out this weekend, Nov. 15 to Nov. 18.Interstate 10Eastbound restrictions 10 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. MondayEastbound I-10 will be narrowed to two lanes. The right lanes will be closed between the Interstate 17 Split interchange near Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport and U.S. 60 (Superstition Freeway) for work on the Broadway Curve Improvement Project.Ramp closures beginning 8 p.m. FridayAll eastbound and westbound I-10 ramps to eastbound U.S. 60 will close.The southbound I-17 ramp to eastbound I-10 near Sky Harbor Airport will be closed.Also closing is the eastbound U.S. 60 on-ramp at Priest Drive.DetourADOT suggested using eastbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) starting at the State Route 51 Ministack interchange to southbound Loop 101 (Price Freeway) in Tempe.Drivers can also use westbound U.S. 60 or westbound Loop 202 (Santan Freeway).Loop 202Eastbound closure 12 a.m. to 12 p.m. SaturdayEastbound Loop 202 will be closed between McQueen and Cooper roads in the southeast Valley for sign structure removal as part of a widening project.The westbound Loop 202 HOV lane will close between Cooper and McQueen roads.Westbound closure 12 a.m. to 12 p.m. SundayWestbound Loop 202 will be closed between Cooper and McQueen roads for sign structure removal.The eastbound Loop 202 HOV lane will be closed between McQueen and Cooper roads.DetourADOT suggested using Pecos or Germann roads.Closures and restrictions for Ironman Arizona 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. SundayState Route 87 will be narrowed to one lane in both directions between McDowell Road (north of Loop 202-Red Mountain Freeway in Mesa) and Shea Boulevard in Fountain Hills.Westbound McKellips Road will be closed between Loop 202 and Alma School Road.
