
Some long-deferred highway projects affecting Rim Country and the White Mountains have made it into the Arizona Department of Transportation’s five-year plan, according to a release last week.As usual, the gas-tax funded five-year plan remains focused mostly on Maricopa and Pima counties, where most of the gas-tax-paying population lives and voters have approved extra transportation taxes. However, the list ADOT released this week includes a couple of projects that will make travel difficult in Rim Country and the White Mountains – before making things much better.
