Parts of four Phoenix-area freeways will be closed or restricted this weekend, Nov. 8 to Nov. 11, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT).Interstate 10 east closure 10 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. MondayEastbound I-10 will be closed between the State Route 51 Ministack interchange and U.S. 60 (Superstition Freeway) for work on the Broadway Curve Improvement Project.All of the eastbound I-10 on-ramps between Third Street (downtown Phoenix area) and U.S. 60 will close.Ramp closures beginning 8 p.m. FridayThe southbound Interstate 17 on-ramps at Seventh Avenue and Seventh Street will also be closed.DetoursFrom the downtown Phoenix area, consider using eastbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) to southbound Loop 101 (Price Freeway and westbound U.S. 60). Also, consider using westbound Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) in the Chandler area to reach the I-10.From I-10 in the West Valley, consider detouring on southbound or eastbound Loop 202 (South Mountain Freeway) to reach the I-10 near Chandler Boulevard.I-17 closures and restrictionsNorthbound closure 10 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. MondayInterstate 17 will be closed between Dunlap and Peoria Avenues for work on Valley Metro’s light rail bridge over the freeway.The northbound I-17 on-ramps at Bethany Home Road, Glendale Avenue and Northern Avenue will be closed.DetourAccording to ADOT, alternate routes include northbound 19th or 35th avenues.Southbound I-17 overnight restrictions and closures in the north ValleySouthbound I-17 will be narrowed to one lane between Loop 303 and Happy Valley Road for pavement improvements.These lane restrictions will be in effect from 9 p.m. Friday to 9 a.m. Saturday, from 9 p.m. Saturday to 9 a.m. Sunday and from 9 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.The northbound I-17 off-ramp at Loop 303 will close overnight from 9 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.Allow extra travel timeAvoid using neighborhood streets east of I-17 that are not designed for freeway traffic.SR 143 closures beginning Friday nightFrom 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, State Route 143 (Hohokam Expressway) will be closed in both directions between McDowell Road and Van Buren Street for maintenance.The eastbound Loop 202 ramp to southbound SR 143 will be closed until noon on Saturday.The eastbound Loop 202 ramp to northbound SR 143 and McDowell Road and the southbound SR 143 ramp to westbound Loop 202 will both close for the weekend.DetoursConsider using alternate routes such as southbound 44th Street to eastbound Van Buren Street to reach southbound SR 143.The westbound Loop 202 ramp (Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport exit) leading to southbound SR 143 will remain open.SR 51 ramp closures 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. MondayNorth and southbound State Route 51 off-ramps at Bethany Home Road will be closed to local utility work.DetourConsider exiting at Glendale Avenue, Colter Street (southbound only) or Highland Avenue (northbound only) and using 16th Street to reach Bethany Home Road. …
