Car crashes cost Arizona $6 billion a year, according to a new report

PHOENIX – Car crashes cost Arizona nearly $6 billion dollars each year.  That’s according to a new report from the group call the Advocates of Highway and Auto Safety. That figure accounts for medical costs, property damage and missed productivity.  Watch FOX 10 Phoenix live: More than 1,300 people died in crashes in 2023. Over the last decade, that number increases to more than 10,000.  The report recommended several laws Arizona could change to save lives, including a motorcycle helmet law, a booster seat law and more learner’s permit restrictions.
