A sergeant with the sheriff’s office in Carroll County, N.H., has been indicted on allegations of unemployment compensation fraud, theft, and falsifying physical evidence, authorities said Monday.Chris M. Lamb, 51, of Sanbornville, N.H., is accused of collecting more than $29,000 in benefits over the course of more than a year, beginning in March 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic unleashed widespread disruption in the United States, even though he maintained full-time employment in the sheriff’s office during that time, according to the announcement. The fraud and theft indictments allege Lamb falsely reported only some of the income from his side business, CAB Innovations — which offers towing, excavating, auto repair, and other vehicle-related services — while omitting a large portion of his revenue from that business and all of his income from his day job.
