
Fire managers completed treating 6,904 acres on the Tusayan Ranger District last week and are shifting back to the Three Sisters Prescribed Fire Project.Located north of the City of Williams and Interstate 40 south of Forest Road 124 between Airport Road and the west side of Highway 64, the Three Sisters Prescribed Fire Project will begin again as weather conditions improve. Plans for ignitions on approximately 1,500 acres include a start on Oct. 8 followed by a move to 4,200 acres for the Marteen East Project later in the week.
