
A national developer of multifamily housing is planning to deliver hundreds of new rental units in Henry County.Scottsdale, Arizona-based Alliance Residential Co. purchased approximately 47 acres along state Route 155 in McDonough to house its newest apartment community in Georgia: The Weldon by Broadstone.A company representative did not respond in time to a request to reveal the date of the sale and the price paid for the property.Located about 30 miles south of Atlanta’s core, the development should accommodate residents migrating to the area for new employment opportunities, largely created by the region’s expanding industrial corridor, according to a statement from the company.“The Weldon continues Alliance’s growth throughout the state of Georgia and will introduce a modern living option in a tremendously convenient location,” said Noah Randall, the company’s managing director, in a prepared statement. “We are pleased to support the significant growth of the industrial market in Henry County.”The Weldon by Broadstone is slated to feature 330 apartment units with one- and two-bedroom floor plans.The development is anticipated to open for tenant move-ins in early 2026.Homebuilders have increasingly directed attention to Henry County when planning future projects, anticipating an influx of new residents fueled by the county’s growing health care and manufacturing industries.
