Arizona Humane Society waives adoption fees for dogs over 50 pounds Jan. 12-14


PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) – Are you looking to add a new furry friend to your family? The Arizona Humane Society is offering free adoptions for dogs 50 pounds and over from Jan. 12-14 to help create more kennel space as shelters battle overcapacity issues.AHS says they saw more pets come into the shelter last year than they have in the past decade, which is fueled by a rise in animal cruelty cases, injured and abandoned strays, and housing and economic factors.Most dogs available for adoption weigh over 50 pounds, and AHS hopes that this adoption special will be a time for the animals to find their fur-ever home.
