Arizona Governors Office of Highway Safety awards Tucson Fire Department grant





TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) — Just in time for the holiday’s!Arizona Governors Office of Highway Safety awarded The Tucson Fire Department a $28,442 grant to fund the purchase of new extraction equipment.“The extrication equipment provided to our Public Safety Academy through the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety grant program will enhance Emergency Medical Services throughout the City of Tucson,” says Assistant Chief Lewis Harris. By giving our new firefighters the opportunity to learn and train with the same state-of-the-art equipment utilized by our field crews will result in a safer and more efficient service delivery to the Tucson community.”The grant will allow the Tucson Fire Department Training Division to purchase new extraction equipment primarily used at their Public Safety Academy.The Tucson Fire Department says the additional tools will be used to train current and future generations of Tucson firefighters.
