A boomer couple in their early 60s decided to break away from traditional retirement plans by selling their home in Arizona, choosing instead to rent and travel full time. Relying solely on Social Security and a modest nest egg, they found that letting go of homeownership gave them the flexibility to explore new places and experiences without the burden of property taxes, maintenance, or a fixed location.
Their new lifestyle consists of moving every few months, staying in furnished rentals across the United States, and enjoying a simpler, more fulfilling life. Although unconventional, the couple says the change has brought them closer together and allowed them to focus on making memories rather than managing a home.
